To get the most out of CRAFT, please keep the following in mind:

  1. Complete all the lessons and assignments in the order in which they appear. Take your time and be patient with yourself. Change can be slow, but your persistent effort will pay off.
  2. Practice is key. The more you review the exercises and practice the skills, the more likely you are to learn.
  3. In Section 2 you will create a Safety Plan. This Safety Plan should be in place before applying any CRAFT techniques.
  4. Avoid suggesting treatment for someone with PTSD until you have developed the skills needed to be successful.
