Ignoring unhealthy behaviors may help decrease drinking and/or using. When you ignore substance-related behavior, you help make substance use less attractive.
It is important to remember that your loved one may realize that your reaction to them is now different. If this change makes them angry and you feel you are at risk, carry out your Safety Plan or call 911.
