How to Use the CRAFT-SUD Course
This course can help you learn more about addiction and how substance use disorders can impact some relationships. You will learn and practice new skills that help family members to communicate more effectively. CRAFT-SUD also covers strategies that will help you to take care of yourself, whether or not your loved one decides to seek services to help reduce or stop using alcohol or other drugs.
This is a self-paced course with the opportunity to print or save exercises in each lesson. We recommend that you move through sections in order, and that you practice the skills described in each lesson between your sessions.
CRAFT-SUD includes information about the options available for Veterans who may benefit from treatment in VA or in the community. Those who are not members of a military family can also get useful information in this course.
NOTE: CRAFT-SUD is not a substitute for medical care or advice from a provider. Only a licensed professional can diagnose PTSD.
