Recovery from a concussion can be frustrating, and you may be struggling with symptoms like headaches, insomnia, concentration and memory problems, irritability and more. The Concussion Coach app was created for everyone, including Veterans and Service members, to help manage symptoms related to a concussion or head injury. Concussion Coach is designed to help you learn and practice healthy activities that can improve your concussion symptoms.
Features include:
- Daily check-ins with Bean, your personalized concussion guide
- Suggested activities and tools to help manage your concussion symptoms
- Screeners (or questions about symptoms) for concussion and PTSD
- Trackers for goals, concussion symptoms, pain, and self-compassion
- Education about concussion, including what to expect and what may change over time
- Resources for concussion and related conditions
How to Use Concussion Coach
Concussion Coach can be used as a stand-alone education and self-care tool, or as a supplement to professional care.
The first time you open the app, you will have the opportunity to personalize your experience by identifying symptoms related to your concussion and then monitoring them over time.
Get the most out of Concussion Coach by completing a daily check-in and trying a suggested activity on the home screen. You can explore other tools by selecting "Tools" from the bottom menu bar, and choosing an area where you would like more support to help get back on track.
NOTE: Concussion Coach is not intended to replace professional care related to a head injury or mental health conditions, such as PTSD.
