Biography

Jennifer J. Vasterling, PhD, graduated from Vanderbilt University, subsequently completing pre- and post-doctoral training in clinical neuropsychology at the Boston Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

She currently serves as the Chief of Psychology at VA Boston Healthcare System and as a clinical investigator within the Behavioral Science Division of the VA National Center for PTSD. Dr. Vasterling is a Professor of Psychiatry at Boston University School of Medicine and a Lecturer in Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Vasterling's research has centered on furthering understanding of the longitudinal trajectory of neurocognitive and emotional changes that accompany war-zone deployment and posttraumatic stress responses, including interplay among PTSD, traumatic brain injury, and cognitive processes. She has edited several books, including a volume on co-morbid PTSD and mild traumatic brain injury.
