Biography

Dr. Katherine Hadlandsmyth is a clinical psychologist specializing in health psychology with a specific focus on chronic pain. She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Anesthesia at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and an Investigator with the Center for Access & Delivery Research and Evaluation (CADRE), and the Veterans Rural Health Resource Center (VRHRC) at the Iowa City VA. Her research focuses on preventing chronic postsurgical pain and tailoring behavioral interventions to subsets of Veterans with chronic pain, including women and rural-dwelling Veterans. She is also beginning to investigate the overlap of PTSD and chronic pain.
