Description
Prolonged Exposure (PE) is a well-researched and highly effective treatment for PTSD. Despite its proven effectiveness and use for over 25 years, many providers are not aware of its utility or hold erroneous beliefs about who may benefit from PE.
This online course reviews key findings in the past 15 years of clinically relevant research on PE and PTSD treatment. The author discusses groundbreaking research on PE to highlight its efficacy with patients who have PTSD and co-occurring conditions. Research evidence supporting different modalities of treatment and additional benefits for patients beyond PTSD symptom reduction is described.
